Dermatology

Overview:

    • Dermatology is the study of medicine concerned with the skin, hair, nails, and its varying disease processes. Common disorders include Plaque Psoriasis, Psoriatic Arthritis, and Hidradenitis Suppurativa.

Symptoms:

    • Symptoms vary greatly depending on the disease and area of body affected.  They may include itching, redness, discoloration, and pain.

Treatment:

    • Treatments for Dermatologic diseases vary depending on a patient’s specific condition.  Typically, a patient will be treated with any and all the following classes of medication depending on the severity of their disease: corticosteroids, UV light, retinoic acid, immunomodulatory agents, DMARDS, and biologics.
